BOY at Elmia in Sweden

The German manufacturer of injection moulding machines with clamping forces of up to 1,250 kN is continuing its presence on the Scandinavian market at the four-day ELMIA plastics trade fair in Jönköping (14th – 17th May).

Elmia Polymer is a trade fair with the focus on plastics and rubber. The trade fair offers a top-class range of injection moulding, extrusion and compounding. As one of the few Polymer trade fairs in Scandinavia, Elmia Polymer offers all machine and automation suppliers the opportunity to present their systems in operation.

At the trade fair booth C01:08 of the Swedish BOY representative AWI Maskin AB a BOY XS E produces egg cups made of Terralene WF 3516, a bio-based WPC made of bio-based Polyethylene with wood fibres.

With its latest standards in machine equipment and a clamping force of 100 kN on a footprint of just 0.87 m², the BOY XS E offers a wide range of applications in micro and sprueless small part injection moulding with innovative and proven technologies. The injection moulding machine has been improved in many details. It is equipped with the servo-motor-driven pump, which scores with its high dynamics and extremely smooth running, and the latest BOY Procan ALPHA® 6 control system with process configurator and OPC-UA (optional interface packages).

"For AWI Maskin AB, the Elmia Polymer is a perfect opportunity to share our expertise in injection moulding with the market. Expertise and a way of thinking that is different from that of our competitors. With several smaller injection moulding machines, consuming less energy per machine and with a small footprint, efficiency can often outperform any large machine. For example, with several machines producing the same part, there is never a complete loss of production in the case of a defect." - Malin Andersen, Managing Director of AWI Maskin AB.
