BOY at Fakuma 2026: Now even more compact and with a new design
Another highlight will be the Electric Barista. In the past, this creative combination of mechanical engineering, robotics and coffee culture has already impressed numerous trade fair visitors.
From 12 to 16 October, Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG will be presenting all seven exhibits in their new design for the first time. In addition to the electromechanical models, all servo-hydraulic injection moulding machines have now also been updated to the new design. In Hall A7, Booth 7101, BOY will showcase a representative cross-section of its entire product portfolio, including three further injection moulding machines at partner booth.
Visitors can therefore look forward to a total of four automated exhibits, which impressively demonstrate what is possible within an extremely small footprint.
A highlight of this year's trade fair presentation will be the new LR 5 Compact linear handling system. In this space-saving solution, the LR 5 Compact, including the conveyor belt, is fully integrated below the protective cover of the BOY 35 Electric – without any additional safety fence and, consequently, without the need for EM67 and EM78.
The footprint is reduced from approximately 5.2 to 3.1 m² compared to a machine with an external protective enclosure, with a required ceiling height of just 2.6 m. The entire unit remains fully transportable. The LR 5 Compact is controlled via the Procan ALPHA® 6 machine control system and is therefore fully integrated. This not only simplifies the process set-up itself but also enables integrated data and error management. Thanks to the elimination of Euromap interfaces and the additional handling controller, this system is also highly attractive from a cost perspective.
During the production of oil pourers, the new "electromechanical unscrewing" option will also be presented.
Another highlight will be the Electric Barista. In the past, this creative combination of mechanical engineering, robotics and coffee culture has already impressed numerous trade fair visitors. At the BOY 50 Electric, a collaborative robot will serve freshly prepared espressos in specially moulded cups made from NAS® 30 ECO.
The third and largest electromechanical injection moulding machine, the BOY 100 Electric, will be used for a silicone application (LSR: Liquid Silicone Rubber). Here, foldable funnels are produced, which are placed onto a conveyor belt with the support of the integrated LR 5.
BOY’s electromechanical injection moulding machines are synonymous with precise injection, high dynamics and reduced cycle times thanks to parallel movements. They also stand out for their optimum positioning accuracy and lubricant-free mould mounting area. Within their respective clamping force classes, the machines of the Electric series are the most compact machines available on the market.
Furthermore, BOY is placing a focus on micro-injection moulding this year and will present two of its smallest injection moulding machines, the BOY XS E, side by side. The two BOY XS E machines, each with a clamping force of 100 kN, are used to produce extremely small medical micro-parts that are almost invisible to the naked eye – one made from LSR and the other from a medical-grade PLA of the RESOMER® LR 704 S type. Each machine is equipped with a full-size 8 mm screw, which, as with all our machines, operates on a first-in, first-out basis.
On the vertical insert moulding machine BOY 35 E VV with automation, tool star handles with HEX 3, 4 and 5 are produced within a minimal footprint. A flexible separation system from Variobotic is used, which is positioned directly on the machine frame to save space.
The exhibits are rounded off by the BOY 20 E PRO, on which so-called “battery beer crates” are produced. The small, injection-moulded plastic beer crate serves as a practical storage box for batteries. The BOY 20 E PRO is the entry-level model and can be offered at a particularly attractive price thanks to its reduced range of features and the proven Procan ALPHA® 4 control system. However, there are no compromises in terms of energy efficiency, as it utilises the same servo-motor drive technology as all BOY injection moulding machines in the E-Series.
BOY is looking forward to exciting discussions, new contacts, and inspiring exchanges.
